Rise of intimate weddings

Over the past year, we’ve noticed a beautiful shift happening in the wedding world with more and more couples choosing intimate weddings and elopements over traditional large-scale events. And we get it. As a couple who celebrated our own wedding on a smaller scale (guest count wise), we’ve seen firsthand the magic and meaning that comes from a more personal, curated celebration.
Across the industry, there's been a rise in what many call intentional weddings: celebrations that prioritize connection, experience, and authenticity over guest lists and grandeur.
Why are couples choosing Smaller weddings?
1. Deeper Connection and Intentionality
With fewer people present, couples have the opportunity to be fully present with their guests. There’s less pressure to “make the rounds” or manage a crowd, and more room for authentic connection—whether that’s lingering conversations, shared meals, or spontaneous moments that can get lost in larger events.
2. Creative Freedom
Small weddings allow couples to think outside the box. Whether it’s a private mountaintop ceremony, an art gallery reception, or a multi-day celebration with your closest people, intimate weddings break the mold. There's no rigid timeline to follow and just space to celebrate in a way that feels true to you.
3. Elevated Guest Experience
Many couples are choosing to create unforgettable experiences for a smaller group, from elaborate multi-course dinners to weekend getaways at beautiful venues. Or our personal favorite, a multi-day Disney Fairytale Wedding. With a smaller guest count, your budget can stretch further and more meaningfully.
4. Less Stress, More Joy
Without the logistics of a 200+ person guest list, many couples feel more relaxed and able to enjoy the day. Intimate weddings often feel less performative and more like a reflection of the couple’s real relationship and shared values.
