Welcome & Epcot firework Party
The night before the wedding was planned as a Welcome Party, though rain redirected the dessert portion to the China Theater and the fireworks to the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT. Despite the drizzle, everyone had a blast! Running around in ponchos, friends and family embraced the change, creating sweet memories during an impromptu but magical evening. We will never forget Marcos' kind groomsman not only holding an umbrella for us over our gear the entire firework show, but also moving around with us as we got the best shots.
the Wedding
Erika and Marcos chose Disney’s Wedding Pavilion for their ceremony and Disney's Convention Center for their reception, located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
The Details
On the wedding day, Erika got ready in a luxurious Club Level Conceirege level room at the Grand Floridian, with the most gorgeous view of Cinderella Castle. From her delicate jewelry to her elegantly styled hair and makeup (by the amazing Stacie Otto!), every element spoke to the soft fairytale theme of the day. The florals, featuring subtle hints of lavender and classic white blooms, perfectly complemented her gown and veil, as well as the bridesmaids dresses. Meanwhile, Marcos and his groomsmen prepared in a nearby standard room. His groomsmen were some of the BEST! All ready to go one time and being so helpful.
I always love starting a wedding day with flatlays. They are one of my favorite parts of the morning. Erika had thoughtfully gathered so many beautiful pieces for me to photograph: her ring, jewelry, invitation suite, perfume, shoes, and more. Every item tied perfectly into their soft lavender and elegant fairytale theme, creating a cohesive, romantic story before the day had even begun.
First Look & Portraits
Their first look was such a sweet moment. Marcos’s face lit up with pure joy as he saw Erika in her gown. They had such a sweet quiet moment with each other before we jumped into portraits. After photos on the patio, we moved to the Grand Staircase in the Grand Floridian Lobby for portraits. The new carpet and freshly painted mural above the stairs were gorgeous (and so colorful!), enhancing the romantic and elegant feel of their photos.
Disney Wedding Pavilion ceremony
The ceremony took place at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, officiated by Rev Kev (one of the very best!) Erika and Marcos’s heartfelt ceremony had the backdrop of Cinderella Castle and they were surrounded by family and friends, while also honoring those that are no longer with us.
After the ceremony, we took photos at Picture Point with Cinderella Castle in the background. This moment can be very chaotic, as we only have about 7 minutes there, but taking a moment to step back and get those BIG castle moments is one of my very favorite shots and a shot I will always take the time to get.
After Picture Pointe they were welcomed with a joyful bubble exit with guests. Something about the joy and color of the bubbles somehow makes these pictures my favorite of the day.
The couple then enjoyed extended couple’s portraits in the Wedding Pavilion before heading to the reception!
The Reception
Their reception at the Grand Floridian Convention Center showcased the new renovations... fresh carpet, new chandeliers, and updated colors added to the elegant fairytale ambiance. Less yellow and more blue made for a happy photographer!
Marcos and Erika did a room reveal and small private moment to dance before guests entered. The purple and white floral and reception details were perfectly set up by the very talented Kaitlyn with Fairy Godmother Coordination.
Mickey and Minnie surprised guests during a large group photo and later joined for cake cutting and dancing! I love how no matter how old someone is, they ruen into a 7 year old as soon as Mickey and Minnie walk into the room!
After portraits with our friends, the reception was full of energy, love, and family moments that perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities! We just LOVED how many family photos and moments they called us over the capture. That is what receptions are all about!
As their photo and video team, one of my favorite parts of the day was being surrounded by such a kind and welcoming family. From the moment I arrived, everyone made us feel like part of the celebration. You could feel the deep love that connected them all in every moment.
It was also such a treat to work alongside some of my very favorite vendors that we’ve now had the honor of collaborating with many times. We’ve built such a natural rhythm together that it truly feels like a dream team coming together to make magic for our couples!
