Our 2024 spring season officially kicked off with the sweetest couple: Ena and Josiah! These two booked me for their wedding day, so their engagement session wasn’t just about getting beautiful photos, it was our first real chance to hang out, connect, and get comfortable before the big day.
Their vision? Mountains and foliage. And while winter in Dahlonega was still holding on, the mountains absolutely delivered. We started our one-hour session downtown, where the charm of the historic square matched their joyful energy. Locals shouted congratulations as we wandered the cobblestone streets! It was adorable and made the day feel even more special.
Then we headed up into the hills. The wind may have been strong, but these two handled it so well snuggling close, dancing, and just embracing the moment. The views were stunning, but it’s the way they looked at each other that stole the show.
Ena and Josiah chose to add extra time to their session so we could explore multiple locations, and I’m so glad they did. That second location added such variety to their gallery of the cozy town moments paired with sweeping landscapes. The session ended with pasta, laughter, and wedding talk. Exactly how all engagement sessions should end if you ask me.
What I love most about engagement sessions is how relaxed they are. No timelines or to-do lists. Just time to be yourselves, get comfortable in front of the camera, and celebrate this exciting season together. These sessions help me show up as more than just your photographer on your wedding day. By then, we’ve already built trust and connection and that is something that shows in every frame.
